Steve Arnold
Steve Arnold was born and raised in Seattle and completed his MFA in scenery design for theater at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. After designing scenery for small equity waiver theaters he worked in New York City, assisting several established Broadway designers. He soon began getting drafting jobs on films and over the years worked his way up the ladder on a number of well-known feature films, including "Mississippi Burning," "The Doors," "Forest Gump," "The Hudsucker Proxy," and "Bugsy," which won the Oscar for best Art Direction. Subsequently, he worked as an art director for over a decade on both independent and blockbuster films before becoming a Production Designer in his own right. As the production designer for the groundbreaking series "House of Cards," Steve was one of the first to work in the streaming world, and has since worked on projects for Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon. Over the years, he has had the chance to work with such noted directors as Alan Parker, Oliver Stone, Stephen Frears, Barry Levinson, Terry Gilliam, the Coen Brothers, Steven Soderbergh, Robert Zemeckis, M.Night Shyamalan, Sam Rami, Ang Lee, and David Fincher. He is the winner of two Art Directors Guild design awards and has been nominated for three Emmy Awards. In his spare time, he enjoys sketching, painting and baking, regularly impressing his coworkers with his signature apple pie.
