Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: October 5, 2025

Our Commitment

We believe everyone should be able to experience The Set Set’s stories, products, and creative community—regardless of ability. Our goal is to provide a digital environment that is inclusive, usable, and enjoyable for all visitors.

We continually evaluate our website and digital experiences to ensure conformance with accessibility best practices and applicable laws.

1. Commitment Under California and Federal Law

The Set Set ('we,' 'us,' 'our') is committed to providing a website experience that is accessible to all persons, including individuals with disabilities. As a business accessible to California residents, we recognize our obligations under:

  • Unruh Civil Rights Act (Cal. Civ. Code § 51 et seq.)
  • California Disabled Persons Act (CDPA) (Cal. Civ. Code § 54 et seq.)
  • California Government Code § 11546.7 (AB 434)
  • Proposed California AB 1757 (if enacted)

We also recognize the interplay between California’s statutes and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Title III, which California courts often reference in Unruh litigation. Our goal is to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and maintain that standard through
ongoing testing and remediation.

2. Technical Standard & Testing Methods

We measure our site against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA — the current industry benchmark and California’s emerging standard.

Testing protocol includes:

  • Automated scans using AccessFlow, cross-checked with AXE
  • On-page AccessWidget for user adjustments
  • Quarterly manual audits of templates and e-commerce flows
  • Screen-reader and keyboard navigation testing (NVDA, VoiceOver)
  • Color contrast and captioning verification for all rich media

3. Limitations & Known Issues

We acknowledge the following potential limitations:

Third-Party Platforms:

  • Shopify checkout, affiliate widgets, and video platforms (e.g., YouTube, Instagram) are not fully under our control.

Embedded Media:

  • Some externally hosted media may not meet full WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

Legacy or External Content:

  • Although The Set Set was newly built in 2025 with accessibility integrated into its architecture, some externally sourced content may not yet conform.

4. Remediation & Maintenance Schedule

Our schedule is designed to show demonstrable, proactive measures rather than aspirational intent:

  • Monthly: Review automated scan reports and log issues for remediation
  • Quarterly: Manual WCAG re-audit of critical pages
  • Annually: Third-party audit and retention of compliance records

5. Feedback & Accommodation Requests

We welcome feedback on accessibility and are committed to continuous improvement. If you encounter any difficulty accessing our content or functionality, please contact us so that we may work to resolve the issue promptly. We review and address all accessibility inquiries in good faith and in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the California Unruh Civil Rights Act, and the California Disabled Persons Act.

Contact:

We strive to acknowledge all accessibility-related requests within five business days and to address substantive issues within thirty days when feasible.

6. Legal Disclaimer

This statement reflects The Set Set’s good-faith efforts to comply with California and federal accessibility laws. It does not constitute a warranty of full compliance or a waiver of any legal rights or defenses. We update this statement periodically as regulations and standards evolve.
