Ruth E. Carter's costume team spray hot water on a newly dyed dress which is seen on Annie during the fateful night at the Jukebox. After dying the bottom of the gown, they took the still wet dress and sprayed it with hot water to make sure there wasn't a strong line where the colors meet.
